Summary
To start SEO work on woodfirebrands.com, we need four things from you: account access, business and market details, product content, and agreement on goals and approvals.
A first review of the homepage already shows clear quick wins. The page title, meta description and social share image still describe the old positioning, while the site now sells bold, avocado-oil pita chips with no seed oils. Fixing these alone helps Google and shoppers understand what Woodfire is today.
Once we receive the items in this document, we will run a full audit, share a prioritised plan, and start implementation. A checklist of every item is at the end.
Initial findings
We found eight issues on the homepage alone. These are a starting point, not the full audit, which needs Google Search Console access to confirm what is indexed and ranking.
Initial homepage findings
| Area |
What we found |
Why it matters |
| Page title |
“Woodfire Brands Pita” with no product keywords |
The title is the strongest on-page ranking signal and the headline people see in Google. It should name avocado oil pita chips. |
| Meta description |
Still says “thin, crispy, authentic, 100-year family recipe” |
It no longer matches the current brand (bold flavor, avocado oil, no seed oils), so search results show outdated messaging. |
| Social share image |
Uploaded in 2020, filename misspelled (“woodifre-brands.png”), linked over http |
Links shared on Facebook, Messenger or Slack show an old image and a weaker first impression. |
| Headings |
Several H1 headings on one page (logo plus two section titles) |
Google expects one clear main heading per page. Multiple H1s dilute the page topic. |
| Image alt text |
Most product and lifestyle images have empty alt text |
Missed visibility in Google Images, plus an accessibility gap for screen-reader users. |
| Product URLs |
Handles say “6oz” while products are sold as 2 oz and 8 oz bags |
Confusing for shoppers and search engines. Changing them needs 301 redirects to avoid losing existing rankings. |
| Shop page |
Built as a custom page instead of a Shopify collection |
Collections give Google a cleaner product listing, filters and structured data. |
| Content depth |
No blog, recipes or snacking guides; only Facebook linked |
Few pages exist to rank for searches like “seed oil free snacks” or “best pita chips for hummus”. |
We will also check site speed, mobile usability, structured data (product, review and organization schema), indexing, broken links and duplicate content during the full audit.
1. Goals and success metrics
Please answer these first, because the goal decides which pages and keywords we prioritise.
- What is the main goal of SEO for Woodfire?
- More direct online orders on woodfirebrands.com
- More shoppers finding Woodfire in retail stores (Where to Buy)
- Stronger brand awareness and search for “Woodfire”
- Wholesale or retail buyer enquiries
- How will you measure success? For example, organic revenue, organic orders, keyword rankings or traffic.
- Do you have current numbers we can use as a baseline (monthly orders, revenue from online sales, website visitors)?
- Have you done any SEO work before? If yes, who did it, when, and what changed?
- Are there any paid ads running (Google Ads, Meta, Amazon)? We want SEO and ads to support each other, not compete.
2. Access required
Please grant access through each platform’s user invite. Do not send passwords by email or chat; invites are safer and you can remove them at any time.

Please also send a list of the Shopify apps currently installed, especially any SEO, review, image or speed apps, so we avoid duplicate or conflicting tools.
3. Business and market information
This tells us who we are competing with and which searches matter to your customers.
- Target market: which countries, states or regions do you ship to and sell in?
- Ideal customer: who buys most (health-conscious snackers, families, office buyers, gift buyers)?
- Top 3 to 5 competitors, online and on the shelf.
- Keywords you believe customers use to find you, and any you already rank for.
- Main selling points in order of importance (for example: avocado oil, no seed oils, crunch, flavor, family recipe).
- Full list of retailers and stores that stock Woodfire, with locations, for the Where to Buy page.
- Other sales channels (Amazon, Walmart, Faire, wholesale) and their links.
- Products or flavors launching in the next 6 months, and any being discontinued.
- Busy seasons or promotions planned (game day, holidays, back to school).
4. Content, product data and assets
Accurate product data is what lets Google show rich results such as price, availability and reviews.
Product information (per flavor and pack size)
- Ingredient list and nutrition facts as text, not only as images
- Allergen information and certifications (for example: non-GMO, kosher, vegan, if applicable)
- Correct pack sizes, weights, case quantities and prices
- UPC or GTIN barcode numbers (needed for Google Shopping and product schema)
Brand claims and messaging
- Approved claims we can use in titles and descriptions (“made with avocado oil”, “no seed oils” and similar)
- Any claims we must avoid for legal or regulatory reasons
- Brand story details: founding year, family recipe history, where the chips are made
Visual assets
- Original, high-resolution product and lifestyle photos
- Current logo files and a new social share image, or approval for us to create one
Reviews and social proof
- Customer reviews or testimonials you are allowed to publish
- Any review app you use, or are open to using
- All active social media profiles (Instagram, TikTok and others)
Content approval
- Are you open to a blog or recipe section (dip pairings, snack boards, game-day ideas)? This is the main way to rank for searches beyond your brand name.
5. Approvals, budget and timing
Clear sign-off keeps the work moving and avoids changes waiting in a queue.
- Who approves copy, page and URL changes, and how quickly can they usually respond?
- Can we make technical fixes (alt text, headings, schema, redirects) directly, or does every change need sign-off first?
- Preferred scope:
- One-time SEO setup and fixes
- Setup plus ongoing monthly SEO (content, reporting, improvements)
- Is there a target date or launch we should work toward?
- How often would you like progress reports (fortnightly or monthly)?
Note: SEO results usually build over 3 to 6 months. Technical fixes show up faster; content and rankings take longer.
What happens next
Work starts as soon as access is granted; the rest of the information can follow in parallel.
- Onboarding: you send access and answers from this document.
- Full audit: technical health, indexing, speed, structured data, content and competitor review.
- Keyword research: priority keywords mapped to each page (home, shop, products, variety pack, story, FAQ).
- Plan and quote confirmation: a prioritised action list with quick wins first, for your approval.
- Implementation: titles and descriptions, headings, alt text, schema, redirects, collection setup and content.
- Tracking and reporting: baseline measured, then regular updates on rankings, traffic and orders.
Checklist
Items marked “Priority” unblock the audit, so please send those first.
